Graduation Cap

Design and Features

I wanted my graduation cap to reflect my experience at Wentworth Institute at Technology. Being involved with many creative clubs that the university had to offer had me spend most of my time at the Accelerate Makerspace. Inspired by the classic cartoon, Inspector Gadget,  I decided to create a robot arm that would attach to my cap that would move my tassel from right to left upon graduation. The robot arm is 3D printed and is actuated by servos controlled by an Arduino Uno. Through the use of two buttons, the arm moves right to left and opens and closes its grip. Additional accessories such as club stickers, my makerspace name badge, and the Accelerate flag. Also, the cap has a cool red underglow.
