PDB Foundation Entrepreneur Co-op

For my fall co-op of 2021, I enrolled in the PDB Foundation. The goal of the co-op was for its sponsored members to develop a business plan and work towards developing a start-up. The program provided funding to develop the start-up along with mentors and access to networks that can aid in the development of their business. My start-up involved the advancement of virtual reality (VR) technology in order to provide greater immersive experiences. In developing my startup, I researched my market and interviewed my potential customers. I attend virtual conventions, including Facebook Connect, in which I was able to converse with developers within the virtual reality industry. After affirming the viability of my product I began to establish its value proposition and work on the business plan of the start-up. With the help of my mentor, I learned valuable lessons on the importance of understanding your competition and how you can leverage competition to enter the market. After having a base for my business plan, I began to work on my product. The project was to create a full-body tracking rig that made us of inertial measuring units (IMU).
