Roombo

At the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) 2018 I had the pleasure of testing out an indie game known as Roombo First Blood. I was enamored by Roombo's design and decided to create a physical replica of the character. Roombo is a parody of the smart vacuum known as the Roomba. I recreated the model in Fusion 360 as well as designed compartments to hold the electronics and hardware to make the robot roll around and correct course upon bumping into walls. The project was then 3D printed and assembled. The Roombo replica operates on an Arduino nano. The eyes of the replica blink and animate different facial features on a TFT LCD screen.
